Shame! Shame! Shame! is what persons attending court and doing business at the Tunapuna Administrative Complex are crying out.
For the past 18 months the elevator has been down and to date no attempt has been made to have it repaired. People are saying that tears come to their eyes when they see old and infirm persons climbing the steps to do business at the Warden’s office or to attend court. And on many occasions no one knows which court is where so it is not unusual to see people traipsing from floor to floor in the two story building.
Many persons are asking how can a government be so insensitive and not fix a simple thing like an elevator. Others are blaming their Member of Parliament Esmond Forde whom they say neglected Tunapuna the day he entered Parliament. With elections around the corner many persons are saying that the elevator will be fixed in the same way roads are now being repaired and rivers are being dredged.
